Privacy Policy
This explains what personal information Love For Ink collects when you get in touch, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We keep this deliberately plain.

Who we are
Love For Ink is a private tattoo studio based at 12A Bath Place, Taunton, TA1 4ER. For anything to do with your personal information, or this policy, contact us at info@loveforink.com. We are the “data controller” for the information described here.
As a UK business that handles personal information, we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and pay the annual data protection fee. Our registration reference is available on request.
What we collect
When you send a booking enquiry through this website, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, telephone number (if you provide it), and the information about your tattoo idea — placement, size, whether you want black & grey or colour, your availability, your description, and any reference photos you upload.
Sometimes people choose to tell us health-related information because it affects whether or how a tattoo can be done (for example a skin condition, allergy, or that you are pregnant). You do not have to share this to make an enquiry — only tell us what is relevant, and only if you are comfortable doing so. Where you do share it, we treat it as sensitive and handle it with extra care.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, give you advice, and arrange and manage your appointment. Under UK data protection law our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running the studio. The confirmation box on the form records your consent to be contacted about your idea and appointment. Where you share health-related details, we rely on your explicit consent to consider them for your tattoo.
How it is stored and who can see it
Your enquiry is emailed to the studio and read by Giannis. Reference photos you upload are stored on our website hosting. We do not sell your information or share it for marketing. The only third parties who may process it are the trusted providers that host our website and email on our behalf, and only so those services work.
Consent forms, ID and health records
Tattooing in the UK is regulated. Before we tattoo you, you must be 18 or over — it is illegal to tattoo anyone under 18 (Tattooing of Minors Act 1969) — so we may ask to see and take a copy of your photo ID to confirm your age. At your appointment you will also complete a consent form, which includes the health information we need to check a tattoo is safe for you.
We keep these consent forms, any ID copies, and the health details you give securely, and separately from the website. We hold them for as long as we are required to for health, legal, and insurance reasons, and our premises and records may be inspected by our local authority’s environmental health team, who register and monitor tattoo studios. We only share these records where the law requires it, and never for marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep website enquiry information for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any resulting appointment, and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch — after which we delete it. Consent forms and related client records are kept for the longer period described above, where we have a legal or legitimate business reason to. You can ask us to delete information we’re not legally required to keep at any time (see below).
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to have it deleted, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To exercise any of these, email info@loveforink.com and we will respond as required by law.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Cookies and tracking
This website is kept intentionally simple. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not build a profile of you. If we add anything in future that does (for example website analytics), we will update this policy first.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
