Tattoos worth taking your time over
A calm, appointment-only studio for considered Japanese, traditional, large-scale and black & grey work.
A private room, not a shop floor
Love For Ink is a private, appointment-only studio in Taunton. There’s no walk-in counter and no rush — just one artist, one client, and the time to get a piece right.
I’d rather do fewer tattoos well than many in a hurry, and that starts with a proper conversation about your idea before any needle comes out. If it’s your first tattoo, that calm makes a real difference.

Large-Scale
Sleeves, backs and panels planned over multiple sessions.

Pricing & deposits
Every tattoo is priced individually — size, placement, style and detail all change the work involved. The studio minimum is £60. For larger, full-day or multi-session work, we’ll talk through a price once we’ve seen your idea.
A deposit secures your appointment and lets design work begin: £100 minimum (more for larger pieces), non-refundable, and deducted from the final price. If you need to move your appointment, that’s fine once with 14+ days’ notice. We accept cash, bank transfer and card.

Booking & Enquiries
How do I book?
Everything starts with an enquiry — there’s no instant online booking. You view the work, send an enquiry, have a consultation if one’s needed, then we agree a quote and date and a deposit books it in.
What happens after I submit an enquiry?
Every enquiry is read personally. We usually reply within 2–5 working days. For certain kinds of work we may suggest a consultation first.
Do you accept walk-ins?
The studio is appointment-only, by enquiry — so we don’t take walk-ins.
Consultations
Do I need a consultation?
Not for everything — mainly for larger, custom, Japanese, cover-up or scar work, or if you’re unsure. For straightforward work the enquiry form is enough.
Is there a charge for a consultation?
Consultations are free when needed. Design work begins once your appointment is booked and the deposit is paid.
Pricing & Deposits
How much will my tattoo cost?
Every tattoo is priced individually, with a £60 studio minimum. Larger, full-day or multi-session work is discussed once we’ve seen your idea, size, placement, style and detail.
Is a deposit required?
Yes — a minimum of £100 (more for larger work, at the artist’s discretion). It’s non-refundable, deducted from the final price, and secures your appointment while design work begins.
What if I need to cancel or move my appointment?
With 14 or more days’ notice you can move your deposit once. With less than 14 days’ notice the deposit may be lost and a new one required. Illness and genuine emergencies are handled separately, at the artist’s discretion.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, bank transfer and card.
Cover-Ups / Scar-Cover
Can you do cover-ups?
Cover-ups are considered case by case. Please send clear photos in natural daylight. Not every cover-up can be achieved exactly as requested, so we’ll often recommend a consultation before confirming what’s possible.
Do you do scar-cover work?
Same approach as cover-ups — case by case, photos first (natural daylight), and a consultation may follow before we confirm what can be done.
First Tattoos
Is Love For Ink suitable for a first tattoo?
Absolutely — first tattoos are welcome and taken seriously. Send an enquiry with your idea and we’ll guide you through what to expect.
Do you do fine line tattoos?
Fine line is considered where it suits the design, placement and expected healed result, but it isn’t the studio’s main focus — the core specialisms are Japanese, traditional, large-scale, black & grey and dotwork.
Health, Age & ID
Is there an age requirement?
You must be 18 or over, and we may ask for valid photo ID. If age can’t be verified, the appointment can’t go ahead.
Is there anything I need to tell you before booking?
Please tell us before booking if you are unwell, have an infection, take medication that may affect bleeding or healing, have allergies, have a medical condition that may affect the tattoo process, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have previously had problems healing a tattoo. Some situations may need extra advice before booking.
Aftercare
What aftercare is involved?
Keep it clean, lightly moisturised, and out of the sun and water while it heals, and don’t pick as it flakes. Full guidance is on the Aftercare page, and you’ll get specific advice on the day.
